My little smarty pants

Jonathan often says things that just amaze me for a 3 year old but I often forget them before telling the world. But here is a recent one I remember.

We were eating breakfast on Sunday morning and I mentioned to Alan that I do not like the book "Dangerous book for Boys" (side note: I think it is a good book but way to old for Jonathan, and maybe too young for Matthew). To which Jonathan said "That book is bad for Daddy but good for Mommy. right?". What a clever little kid making the connection that it was Dangerous FOR boys but it was safe for girls.

Settling for Joy

I left a meeting 10 minutes early to pick up my son and was blessed with a wonderful "This I Believe" segment on NPR. Corinne Colbert talks about "settling" in marriage and how it is the best thing in the world. She defines to settle as to place in order, quiet, calm, rest. In an over advertised, over consumerized world being happy is priceless. It is not doing less, but enjoying what you have more.

Another gem was Corinne's husband reply that Marriage is not about two people but about creating a family.
